There was a packed Town Hall for the 2023 Award evening on Sunday 4th December – below is the full list of 2023 winners announced at our highly inspirational and successful evening Congratulations to each and every one.
In addition, three Honorary Lifetime Memberships of the Club were awarded: Alistair Kinsey was one recipient – he is stepping down as chairman of the club after being in post since 2017. His citation noted that he was instrumental in steering the Club to where it is today, the largest club in the Southwest, serving over 400 members as well as the local community. The incoming chairman will be announced at the AGM in January.
Alistair Kinsey presented an Honorary Membership to Mansbridge Balment – the first time such an award has been made to a business rather than an individual, in recognition of the many years that it has supported the Club through sponsorship of its flagship races, the Tavy 7 and Tavy 13, as well as its practical support to these. The award was accepted by managing director Nick Henderson.
A third Honary Membership was presented to Mhairi McCall, a past chairman of the club but more recently a champion of running for young people of the town, through the annual Primary Schools Challenge, her regular coaching of junior TAC members and her support to the many junior cross-country runners.
