Congratulations to the 70 runners who completed the Tavy 5k on Saturday 18th November. No records were broken but there were some great times and achievements right across the results sheet. It was good to see some new names at the top of the sheet with two unattached runners, Steve Burrows and Anis Sahoo taking first and second place with sub-18min times. Storm Plymouth’s Daniel Westlake took third place and TAC’s Reuben Segab-Montefiore was fourth and first U17M runner home. Emma Ryder, also from TAC, was first female and overall fifth finisher.
Special mention is due to Matt Neale, an ex Tavistock College Head boy from a few years back, travelled the furthest for the race – from Minnesota USA where he now lives. Also it was great to see a good contingent of Instinctive Sports runners taking part (the results show 5 finishers, but there looked to be a few more than that!) and also a runner from Team Bath AC. Finally there was a warm welcome to the latest contingent of Couch to 5k runners, graduating at today’s race.
The results are linked below. Please get the Christmas Tavy 5k on 16th December in your diary, and do turn up wearing something suitably festive!
