This month’s Tavy 5k race was held on Saturday 21st October in drizzy conditions. The weather and the half-term holiday probably affected numbers slightly but 60 enthusiastic runners completed the course. First home was Matthew Bradley of City of Plymouth AC, a V35M category athlete, in a great time of 16:57. Hot on his heels were Derrick Warren of Plymstock RR in 17:14 and the duo of Richard and Rebecca Ezra-Ham of Tamar Trotters in 17:22 and 17:37 respectively, with Rebecca taking the first female place. Benjamin Marriott, also of City of Plymouth AC, was 5th overall and first U17M in 17:59.
Taking part in their first ever 5k race with three graduates from TAC’s latest Thursday night Couch to 5k programme – Rebecca Greatrex, Andy Kelly and Anna McVeigh (pictured), who all did an amazing job and expect to continue their running journey with the Club. Thanks as ever to the Club members who helped with marshalling, registration, time-keeping and tail-running, as well as those coaches who trained the C25k students.
